Job summary

MicroSourcing in Cebu, Philippines is seeking a QA Automation Engineer (Web & API) to join our hybrid night-shift team. You will execute end-to-end testing across web UI, APIs, and backend systems, and build automated tests using Playwright or pytest.

You will also investigate defects, verify AI agent behaviors, and leverage AI-native tools to accelerate testing efforts in a collaborative, diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Professional QA/testing experience on production web applications with strong exploratory and regression testing capabilities.
• Ability to test across full-stack layers (UI, API, database, queues) rather than browser-only manual testing.
• Practical experience inspecting HTTP/API requests, status codes, and reading basic application logs.
• Proven test automation experience (or demonstrated ability to build automated checks using Playwright, pytest, or similar tools).
• Strong attention to data quality, privacy, permissions, and failure handling in a web software environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end functional, exploratory, and regression testing across web UI, APIs, databases, and asynchronous backend systems.
• Validate complex AI agent behaviors, non-deterministic workflows, and background job states across realistic operational scenarios.
• Build and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright, pytest, or fit-for-purpose API testing tools.
• Investigate system defects using browser dev tools, HTTP payloads, database queries, and application logs to produce actionable bug reports.
• Leverage AI-native tools (ChatGPT, Codex, Claude Code, Cursor) to generate test matrices, draft automation scripts, and accelerate root-cause analysis.
