Job summary

Amentum seeks a PV / BESS HMI Operator / Attendant to manage a 3MW PV and 1MW BESS on Diego Garcia. You will monitor controls, collect data via HMI, and ensure safe, reliable power distribution while coordinating with engineers and safety teams.

Required are a high school diploma, NABCEP PV or equivalent certification, and 1–3 years of experience in utility-scale PV/BESS operations. International travel and PPE compliance are mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification as solar and BESS operator preferred (NABCEP or equivalent).
• 1–3 years in operating and maintaining utility-scale PV/BESS.
• Proficient with HMI systems for monitoring PV/BESS operations.
• Able to obtain facility credentials and travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Operate PV plant controls and monitoring to produce power efficiently.
• Use HMI to collect data and maintain plant performance.
• Coordinate PV output to stay within voltage tolerances.
• Operate and monitor BESS controls and data for storage operations.
• Coordinate BESS output to support grid stability and PV smoothing.
• Perform watchstanding duties and ensure safe operation.
• Work with technical teams to optimize system performance and safety.
