Job summary

Amentum seeks a Senior Power Plant Operator to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will lead shift operations for the North or South Power Plant, ensuring safe, efficient power delivery and continuous communication between plants.

You will supervise staff, perform routine inspections, troubleshoot issues, and maintain logs and reports on loads and equipment status. International travel and stringent safety standards apply.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in power plant operations with leadership experience.
• Knowledge of generators, switchboards, fuel and compressor systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and manage multiple plant systems.
• Strong safety, environmental compliance and operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee plant operations during shift for NPP or SPP.
• Coordinate power demands between NPP and SPP for continuous delivery.
• Monitor and manage generators, switchboards, fuel systems, air compressors.
• Perform inspections, data logging, and reporting of plant performance.
• Lead, train, and mentor shift personnel; enforce safety protocols.
