Scorpio is seeking a Pumpman for deployment on board a vessel operating from Manila. The contract/temporary role focuses on cargo, ballast operations, tank cleaning, and maintaining deck equipment with safety and environmental compliance.

Role Purpose: Handle cargo, ballast, and tank cleaning operations effectively and efficiently while maintaining the associated equipment in good order, prioritizing safety, security, and environmental compliance.
Essential Knowledge: The Pumpman must be familiar with company policies, SOLAS, MARPOL, and flag state regulations. Key knowledge areas include the Theory and Practice of Seamanship, loading and unloading operations, ballast operations, cargo pumping systems, tank cleaning, and sampling. Essential areas also include operation and routine maintenance of deck machinery, use of gas monitoring equipment, waste management, and pollution control practices.
Essential Skills and Abilities: Effective leadership, communication, and reporting skills are essential for the Pumpman, along with the ability to operate, maintain, and assist in repairing deck equipment. Strong time management skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and ensure the completion of responsibilities on schedule are required. Proficiency in inspecting and verifying cargo system readiness before loading and unloading, as well as troubleshooting and maintaining cargo and associated systems, is crucial.
Experience: Demonstrates reliability and leadership behaviors while supporting cargo and ballast operations. Handles and maintains cargo and associated deck equipment, including troubleshooting and assisting in resolving technical issues under guidance. Experience with various types of cargoes and vessel configurations is also required.
