Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive assessments, intervention planning, risk assessment, psychosocial and trauma intervention, case management, and coordination of therapeutic activities in the community.
  • Provide quality patient care via individual and family support and trauma-informed interventions.
  • Facilitate group interventions and discharge planning with strength-based family-centered methods.
  • Develop individualized services for children and families/caregivers and support implementation of evidence-based interventions.
  • Ensure documentation and maintenance of psychosocial and trauma intervention records per agency standards and legal requirements.
  • Partner with families/caregivers to ensure child voice, choice, access and participation; link parents, youth, and staff during crises.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary psychosocial and trauma intervention teams including the Child and Circle of Support (CCS).
  • Provide meeting minutes to CCS members and support communication plans for ongoing inclusion and accountability.
  • Provide effective therapeutic linkages with referral sources, collateral contacts, resources and program staff.
  • Monitor effectiveness and efficiency of interventions with youth and families.
  • Complete assessments evaluating target behaviors and their function, culturally relevant to youth and family strengths and needs.
  • Open to integrating spirituality into intervention.
  • Play an active role in empowerment camps and other interventions.
  • Supervise social work interns and volunteers.

Job description

Our ideal candidate has some prior experience in working with vulnerable children and a strong sense of calling to provide safe, nurturing and healing environments for them. A degree in psychology, social work, early childhood development, education or similar and a professional license is an advantage but not a prerequisite. We seek candidates with good verbal and written communication skills in English and Bisaya, familiarity with basic IT tools and good team players.

The successful candidate will join the Balik Kaanyag care team in Malaybalay.

Under the supervision of the center lead, you will, as case manager:

  • a. Provide comprehensive assessments, intervention planning, risk assessment, Psychosocial and Trauma Intervention interventions, case management, and coordination of therapeutic activities in the community.
  • b. Provide quality patient care via individual, family assist TBRI practitioners and other team members to develop strength-based interventions and strategies to journey clients to healing and restoration.
  • c. Facilitate group intervention, and the discharge planning process, including through the use of strength-based family centered methodology, and develop creative methods to ensure individualized care.
  • d. Facilitate and coordinate the development of individualized services for children and families/ caregivers, while supporting their efforts in the design and implementation of evidence-based intervention and incorporating different perspectives in action plans and strategies to help children stabilize in a placement and connect them with a permanent setting.
  • e. Ensure that documentation and maintenance of Psychosocial and Trauma Intervention records is completed per agency standards and legal requirements.
  • f. Partner with families/ caregivers to ensure child voice, choice, access and participation with focus on individual strengths/concerns/needs, and help link parents, youth, and staff when a crisis arises, and integrate internal and external customers’ concerns, needs, and expectations into the planning process.
  • g. Participate effectively in internal and external multidisciplinary Psychosocial and Trauma Intervention teams including the Child and his/her Circle of Support (CCS).
  • h. Provide meeting minutes to all Child and Circle of Support (CCS) members and facilitate communication plans to support on-going inclusion and accountability of all team members.
  • i. Provide effective therapeutic linkages with referral sources, collateral contacts, community resources and program staff.
  • j. Monitor effectiveness and efficiency of interventions with youth and families.
  • k. Complete assessments and evaluations that are culturally relevant and appropriate to youth and family strengths and needs, including identification of target behaviors and the function of those target behaviors.
  • l. Open and willing to integrate spirituality into intervention.
  • m. Play an active role in implementing other intervention center activities such as empowerment camps and happy day-out.
  • n. Supervise social work interns and volunteers.
