Duties and Responsibilities
The responsibilities associated with this position include:
1. Operational Site HSE Assurance
- Provide technical guidance on regulatory compliance, safety risk management, and incident investigation.
- Monitor and analyze HSE performance metrics (leading and lagging indicators) from all sites, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions to drive improvement.
- Facilitate the sharing of best practices, lessons learned, and safety alerts across all operating locations to foster a learning organization.
- Participate in audits and assessments of operating sites to ensure conformance with the HSE Management System.
2. HSE Management System & Governance
- Lead and/or provide support to corporate HSE projects and initiatives, such as the implementation of automation and data science projects, rollout of major safety campaigns, or leading complex incident investigations.
- Assist in the development, review, and revision of corporate HSE policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines to ensure they remain current with regulations and industry best practices.
- Support the maintenance and continual improvement of the Management Systems, ensuring it aligns with standards subscribed to by the organization (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 55001)
3. Stakeholder Interface
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Site and Project HSE Officers and Managers, acting as their primary point of contact at the corporate level.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to develop the capabilities of site-based HSE professionals.
4. Reports and Performance Monitoring
- Assist the Central SHESQ Sr. Manager in tracking and monitoring corporate-led initiatives
- Consolidate, analyze, and prepare periodic HSE performance reports and presentations for senior leadership.
5. Other Related Tasks
- Participate in the different programs of the organization;
- Performs other related duties that may be assigned by immediate superior/s.
Skills: (Minimum requirements in terms of knowledge and skills)
- Comprehensive understanding of occupational safety and health, environmental, and quality management systems;
- Comprehensive understanding of occupational safety and health laws and regulations;
- Working knowledge of environmental laws and regulations;
- Above average communication skills, data gathering, planning, implementation and monitoring skills
- Output oriented, capable of multi-tasking, and analytical
Experience:
- Three to five years of experience in implementing OSH, environmental and quality management system
Education: (Minimum required educational attainment)
- College degree in the field of engineering, science, management or related fields
Technical Competencies:
Safety and Health
- Can provide inputs on the key Safety and Health policies and procedures for development or review
- Can implement health and safety programs
- Can prepare, monitor, and analyze health and safety performance indicators
Environmental Management
- Can provide inputs on the key environmental policies and procedures for development or review
- Can implement environmental management programs based on set environmental objectives and legal requirements; Program and Project Development
Program and Project Development
- Can organize and manage programs that are short-term or
- long-term in nature
- Can implement program/project plans based on set objectives,
- requirements, and timelines
- Can provide key inputs in program development
- Can collaborate with key stakeholders for the implementation of projects or programs
- Can organize and analyze SHESQ data for input in the automation and data science initiatives of SHESQ
