Job summary

AIA is seeking a seasoned project director to lead the direction, coordination, implementation, control and completion of IT projects, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategy and goals. You will plan activities, schedules and resources, manage cross‑functional teams, review requirements and documentation, and report progress to stakeholders.

  • Project management qualification (PMP) or equivalent experience as a project manager.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Education and Experience - Minimum education and experience required to perform the work.
  • University Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related courses.
  • 10-15 years experience managing medium to large IT projects.

Responsibilities

  • Plans activities, timetable, deliverables, and resources for projects and leads the team to complete the assigned tasks following agreed scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Manages processes to ensure plans meet business requirements in a cost efficient manner and within targets.
  • Manages project team, defines roles and responsibilities, sets performance objectives and standards, provides coaching and training to monitor and evaluate performance.
  • Reviews business requirements and approves functional specifications and other project documentation to ensure adherence to scope and development standards.
  • Reviews plans and reports on project progress of different work groups to ensure coordination and objectives.
  • Presents to stakeholders reports on progress as well as problems and solutions.
  • Prepares and/or reviews IT Building Permits, Exemption Requests, Risk Acceptance Requests, Security Assessment Questionnaires and other AIA standard requests.
  • Provide strong leadership to ensure the ongoing development of a capable, productive and engaged workforce with a culture of ownership and delivery.
  • Manages the financials of the project until closure.
  • Control/Governance Ensure awareness and compliance to AIA Project Governance standards.

About the Role

  • Reviews business requirements and approves functional specifications and other project documentation to ensure adherence to agreed scope and to development methodology standards.
  • Reviews plans and report on project progress of different work groups to ensure work is coordinated and continues to meet overall project objectives.
  • Present to stakeholders reports on progress as well as problems and solutions.
  • Prepares and/or reviews IT Building Permits, Exemption Requests, Risk Acceptance Requests, Security Assessment Questionnaires and other AIA standard request or forms needed by the projects.
