The East Asia and Pacific Multi-Country Office (EAPMCO) in Bangkok oversees 24 countries, implementing initiatives in climate change and sustainable development. UNOPS Philippines, established in 2016, aids the government and partners in sustainable development through project management, procurement, and infrastructure services.
Job purpose: The Project Management Support Officer provides essential operational, analytical, and administrative support to ensure the effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of projects within UNOPS. This role is crucial for efficient project delivery by managing data, generating reports, and facilitating coordination among project teams, partners, and support units. The incumbent's contributions inform evidence-based decision-making, enhance project performance, and ensure compliance with UNOPS policies and client requirements. The role may also involve field missions to support data collection, training, and stakeholder engagement, thereby strengthening project systems and processes.
Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include comprehensive data management, analysis, and reporting, involving data collection, validation, structuring, and maintenance of databases and dashboards. The role supports statistical and qualitative analysis to identify trends and inform decision-making, preparing analytical reports and presentations. Project implementation and operational support involve assisting with planning, budgeting, and execution, preparing project documentation, coordinating workshops and missions, and liaising with support units for procurement and payments. Additionally, the role supports procurement, financial, and administrative coordination, including monitoring budget utilization and processing financial transactions. It also contributes to monitoring and evaluation systems, developing analytical models, and supporting performance reviews and donor reporting, while also participating in knowledge‑building and sharing initiatives.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least two years of relevant experience is required. Alternatively, a Master’s degree in any discipline with no prior experience is acceptable. A globally recognized professional certificate or membership in Project Management is considered desirable.
Work experience: Required experience includes work in project management or related areas, along with demonstrable proficiency in collaboration and productivity tools (e.g., MS Office, G-Suite) and web-based management systems. Desirable experience includes working in multicultural environments, UN system organizations, developing countries, or in development or humanitarian contexts.
