Job summary

Gentem Consulting Services Inc. in the Philippines seeks a senior, hands-on technical and development leader to drive solar energy projects through financial close and the COD. You will lead engineering teams, coordinate with regulators and lenders, and ensure timely delivery.

You will build the team and develop the project pipeline to support the platform’s next growth phase, including grid connection assessments and negotiating EPC/O&M and equipment contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Power Engineering.
• REE/PEE license strongly preferred.
• 10+ years in power/renewable energy with 7+ years in solar PV.
• Track record of bringing 100 MWp to COD or financial close.
• Experience with Philippine regulators: DOE, ERC, NGCP, LGUs.
• Experience with grid studies using PSS/E, DIgSILENT, ETAP, PVsyst.
• Experience negotiating EPC, O&M, and supplier contracts.

Job description

Job Summary:

We are hiring a senior, hands-on technical and development leader to drive solar energy projects through financial close and commercial operation. This person will also be responsible for building the team and developing the project pipeline to support the platform’s next phase of growth.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field. A Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) or Professional Electrical Engineer (PEE) license is strongly preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in the power or renewable energy industry, including a minimum of 7 years in solar PV development, engineering, or construction in the Philippines.
• Proven track record of bringing at least 100 MWp of solar projects to financial close or Commercial Operation Date (COD), with experience in both utility-scale and rooftop/commercial and industrial (C&I) solar projects.
• Direct experience working with relevant Philippine regulatory agencies and stakeholders, including DOE, ERC, NGCP, distribution utilities or electric cooperatives, PEZA, and LGUs.
• Hands-on experience in grid connection requirements and power system studies using tools such as PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or ETAP, as well as solar energy yield assessment tools such as PVsyst.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating EPC, O&M, and equipment supply contracts, as well as supporting lenders’ technical due diligence.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), hybrid renewable energy projects, or Green Energy Auction (GEA) participation.
• Previous experience with an Independent Power Producer (IPP), renewable energy developer, EPC contractor, or technical consultancy.
• An MBA or background in project finance is an advantage.
• Must be willing to travel regularly to project sites in Cagayan, Nueva Ecija, and Cavite.
