Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Estimator (Civil Engineer) who is highly adept in both the technical and financial components of bid documents. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing plans and specifications, and ensuring complete and compliant bid submissions for various civil works projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil engineering projects based on plans, specifications, and scope of work
- Analyze bid documents, drawings, and technical requirements to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Develop quantity take-offs, material estimates, labor costs, and equipment requirements
- Evaluate project risks, cost trends, and value engineering opportunities
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and procurement teams during bid preparation
- Prepare and review financial proposals, bill of quantities (BOQ), and cost breakdowns
- Ensure bid submissions comply with client requirements, timelines, and company standards
- Assist in post-bid clarifications and negotiations when required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. Licensed Civil Engineer (preferred)
- At least 3 years of experience as an Estimator in civil or construction projects
- Strong knowledge of cost estimation, quantity surveying, and construction methods
- Proficient in interpreting plans, technical specifications, and contract documents
- Skilled in preparing financial and technical components of bid documents
- Proficient in MS Excel and other estimating or cost analysis software
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines
