Job summary

MicroSourcing in Parañaque City is seeking a Project Engineer – SMP to coordinate construction engineering activities, oversee on-site SMP works, and support project budgets and reporting in a hybrid, day-shift setup.

Role requires 5+ years in a similar field, Mechanical Engineering degree, and strong stakeholder, safety, and quality focus. Power BI and MS Office skills are preferred as part of project controls.

Your Role

As a Project Engineer – SMP, you will:

• Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure project plans are implemented in accordance with designs and specifications.
• Coordinate on-site construction of Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) engineering activities to achieve project cost, time, quality, and sustainability objectives safely.
• Provide technical support throughout project phases to ensure designs meet operational requirements, specified engineering standards, quality standards, and project objectives.
• Interpret engineering designs for implementation in construction projects and review and recommend improvements where appropriate.
• Support contractor procurement activities in collaboration with the Commercial and Procurement teams.
• Assist with the preparation of site construction budgets and reports.
• Monitor construction progress against project programmes and budgets.
• Implement and maintain quality control processes, including ITPs and ITRs.
• Take timely corrective action to address issued non-conformances.
• Prepare and issue weekly status reports and provide accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
• Identify, raise, and manage contract variations in collaboration with Senior Engineers, the Project Manager, and Contracts team.
• Ensure work meets required quality standards and complies with relevant regulations and codes.
• Create technical documents, reports, and manuals to document work, design processes, and project progress.
• Liaise with client representatives regarding technical queries, inspections, project scheduling, and delivery coordination.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders relevant to the area of work.
• Ensure appropriate resources are allocated to achieve required project productivity levels.
• Lead, manage, and provide guidance to Graduate Engineers.
• Stay up to date with technological advancements and relevant engineering developments to continuously improve technical knowledge and skills.
• Observe safe systems of work and report potential hazards and environmental risks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimise processes, tools, products, and services.
• Perform other duties as required to support operational requirements.

What You Need

Non-negotiables

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficient knowledge of the MS Office suite.
• Strong project planning, organisational, and time management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to proactively build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to use initiative and prioritise workload effectively.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to consider potential hazards and risks associated with engineering designs and take appropriate measures to ensure safety and environmental compliance.
• Commitment to applicable health, safety, environment, and quality requirements.

Preferred Skills/expertise/experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
• Previous project experience on similar projects, ideally within the construction, mining, or oil and gas sector.
• Chartered or NER credentials.
• Continuing professional development (CPD).
• Experience with Power BI.
• Self-motivation and flexibility.
• Experience leading, managing, or providing guidance to Graduate Engineers.
