Job summary

Go Gridless Philippines Corporation is seeking a Project Engineer to lead solar energy, battery, and generator installations from planning through commissioning. You will coordinate with the Operations Manager, supervise on-site teams, and ensure all safety, quality, and client expectations are met.

You will review drawings with internal teams, perform ocular inspections, and prepare SLDs, layouts, and BOMs while ensuring permits and documentation are up to standards; travel outside Metro Manila

Qualifications

• Holds a valid REE license and Safety Officer certification.
• Experience managing electrical and solar energy projects, from planning to handover.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for solar, battery, and generator systems; client coordination experience.
• Proficient in preparing permits, Net Metering paperwork, and site documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate projects with Operations Manager, crews, and clients.
• Supervise on-site installation to ensure compliance with design and company standards.
• Provide technical support during configuration, testing, and commissioning.
• Prepare ocular inspections and documentation: SLDs, layouts, BOMs, installation work plans.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and timely permit submissions.
• Oversee system installation, commissioning, and handover, including monitoring setup and client orientation.

Job description

The Project Engineer oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of solar energy, battery, and generator system installations. This role ensures all projects meet technical specifications, safety and quality standards, and client expectations. The Project Engineer also manages on-site teams, coordinates with clients and internal departments, provides technical troubleshooting, and ensures compliance with regulatory and permitting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

• Project Planning and Coordination

  • Coordinate with the Operations Manager regarding manpower deployment, project schedules, and installation plans.

  • Review and align electrical and installation drawings with internal engineering teams.

• On-Site Supervision and Inspection

  • Supervise installation activities to ensure compliance with design plans and company standards.

  • Conduct on-site inspections and respond to client queries during project implementation.

  • Submit daily progress reports with photos and summaries of ongoing work.

• Technical Support and Troubleshooting

  • Provide technical assistance in system configuration, testing, and commissioning.

  • Troubleshoot system issues and liaise with suppliers or manufacturers for technical resolutions.

• Design and Documentation

  • Conduct ocular inspections for new projects and assist in preparing:

    • Single Line Diagrams

    • Layout and roof plans

    • Installation work method plans

    • Bill of Materials

  • Ensure all documentation and permits comply with regulatory standards.

• Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Inspect materials and installation quality to meet company and safety standards.

  • Identify issues, recommend corrective actions, and monitor implementation.

  • Attend project technical meetings and provide input on potential risks and solutions.

• System Installation and Handover

  • Oversee installation and commissioning of solar panels, inverters, and monitoring systems.

  • Configure software and activate monitoring tools for clients.

  • Support setup of network infrastructure (WiFi, LAN, routers, switches) for system connectivity.

  • Conduct basic client orientation on system monitoring and maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Education & Licensure: Registered Electrical Engineer (REE); with valid Safety Officer certification.

• Experience:

  • Proven experience handling electrical and solar energy projects (small to large scale).

  • Skilled in troubleshooting solar systems, battery systems, and generators.

  • Experienced in client coordination and technical discussions.

  • Knowledgeable in managing paperwork and permits for Net Metering and City Hall applications.

  • Experience leading and supervising field teams.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Gmail, Google/Zoom/Skype, AutoCAD, and SketchUp.

  • Familiar with monitoring systems (Solis, SMA, Solax, Alpha ESS, Growatt, Sungrow, etc.).

• Other Requirements:

  • Possesses a valid driver's license (manual vehicle) and owns private transport.

  • Willing to travel and stay outside Metro Manila for project work.

  • Fluent in English and Tagalog (oral and written).

  • Reliable, organized, punctual, and professionally presented.

  • Has a smartphone with a functional camera.
