Oxford University Press (OUP) is seeking a Project Editor to lead end-to-end publishing projects within the Academic Publishing (Content Development) unit in Noida, India. You will manage timelines, budgets, and quality standards while coordinating with authors, editors, reviewers, and cross-functional teams.

You will oversee print and digital content development, ensure timely submissions, and uphold editorial excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of assigned publishing projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
  • Oversee the development and publication of academic content across print and digital formats.
  • Work closely with authors, editors, reviewers, and contributors to ensure timely submission of high-quality content and supporting materials.
  • Review content against project requirements, coordinate peer review activity where required, and ensure adherence to editorial standards.
  • Maintain accurate project information, metadata, schedules, and workflow records across relevant systems.
  • Partner with Production, Design, Marketing, Sales, and Content Operations teams to ensure successful publication and market readiness of products.
  • Monitor project costs, timelines, and risks, escalating issues and identifying solutions when necessary.
  • Support new product development initiatives and contribute to market research, content strategy, and publishing plans.
  • Represent OUP professionally at author meetings, conferences, and other stakeholder engagements when required.
  • Contribute to process improvements, knowledge sharing, and onboarding of new team members.

As a Project Editor, you will:
