SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-sufficient Senior Project Engineer to lead the technical delivery of Microsoft cloud and infrastructure projects in a dynamic Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment. This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer with strong Tier 3 technical expertise and proven experience executing complex IT projects with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will take ownership of end-to-end technical implementation, including Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, hybrid infrastructure, and cloud migration initiatives. They will work closely with project managers, coordinators, and clients to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, technical requirements are met, and solutions align with business objectives.

As a customer-facing technical expert, the Project Engineer must confidently communicate technical recommendations, explain implementation options and trade-offs, and maintain accurate technical documentation. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple projects across a large MSP client portfolio.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independently execute and deliver complex IT infrastructure and Microsoft cloud projects with minimal supervision.

  
  

  • Implement and support Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, and hybrid on premises/cloud environments.

  
  

  • Lead technical migrations involving servers, end-user environments, identity platforms, and cloud infrastructure.

  
  

  • Execute cloud migration projects, including AWS-to-Azure and Google Workspace-to-Microsoft 365 transitions.

  
  

  • Support mergers, acquisitions, business separations, tenant consolidations, and other IT environment transitions.

  
  

  • Develop and implement PowerShell scripts to automate deployments, migrations, configuration tasks, and administrative processes.

  
  

  • Validate project requirements, technical dependencies, prerequisites, and licensing before implementation.

  
  

  • Identify gaps in project scope, technical risks, and outdated implementation approaches, recommending appropriate solutions before they affect delivery.

  • Execute technical tasks assigned by project managers and coordinators while maintaining ownership of technical delivery.

  
  

  • Proactively identify upcoming work, resolve technical blockers, and communicate dependencies that may affect project timelines.

  
  

  • Adjust priorities and transition between projects as client requirements and resource schedules change.

  
  

  • Identify missing prerequisites, licensing requirements, or scope discrepancies and raise them with the appropriate stakeholders.

  
  

  • Maintain productive utilization by identifying available project tasks and supporting other delivery priorities when schedules shift.

  
  
  
  



• Collaborate with other engineering teams to resolve escalations and ensure successful project completion.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven track record of independently delivering complex IT infrastructure and cloud projects.




• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft Azure.




• Experience implementing hybrid on‑premises and cloud environments.




• Demonstrated experience with server, user, identity, or cloud migration projects.




• Experience with at least some of the following:




• AWS-to-Azure migrations.




• Google Workspace-to-Microsoft 365 migrations.




• Microsoft 365 tenant migrations and consolidations.




• Mergers, acquisitions, and IT environment separations.




• On‑premises infrastructure modernization and cloud adoption.




• Practical PowerShell scripting and automation experience.




• Strong troubleshooting, technical analysis, and problem-solving skills.




• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, particularly when discussing technical solutions with clients.




• Ability to work independently, manage competing technical priorities, and adapt to changing project requirements.




• Strong technical documentation skills, including the ability to record implementation details, configuration changes, and technical decisions.

  • Previous experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP), particularly in a multi-client environment.

  
  

  • Experience supporting enterprise or mid-market clients with varied infrastructure and cloud environments.

  
  

  • Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or other relevant Microsoft cloud certifications.

  
  

  • Experience with cloud migration tools, identity management, infrastructure automation, and migration planning.

  
  

  • Familiarity with IT service management platforms, ticketing systems, and project documentation tools.
