Job summary

Makati Business Club in the Philippines seeks a Project Accountant to manage financial records for project funds and managed accounts, ensuring compliance with funding agreements and accounting standards.

You will record and reconcile transactions, prepare periodic reports for management and donors, monitor budgets, and support audits while coordinating with project managers and partner organizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Finance, or related field.
• CPA certification is an advantage but not required.
• At least three (3) years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in project accounting, fund accounting, grant accounting, or financial administration of externally funded programs or partner organizations.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Microsoft Excel, and other financial software.
• Knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, cost allocation, and financial compliance.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple accounts and reporting deadlines.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete accounting records for project funds and managed accounts.
• Record, monitor, and reconcile financial transactions in accordance with budgets, funding agreements, service agreements, and policies.
• Monitor fund balances and ensure proper utilization of project and managed account resources.
• Maintain separate accounting records and schedules for each managed account for financial accountability.
• Prepare periodic financial reports, fund utilization reports, budget monitoring reports, and supporting schedules for management, donors, and partners.
• Monitor budget utilization and identify variances requiring management attention.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and other management reports relating to project funds and managed accounts.
• Monitor expenditures against approved project budgets and managed account allocations.
• Prepare and maintain cost allocation schedules and supporting documentation for shared expenses.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, budget owners, and partner organizations regarding financial performance and fund utilization.
• Provide financial information and recommendations to support sound financial management of assigned project funds and managed accounts.
• Assist in improving financial monitoring and reporting processes for projects and managed accounts.
• Perform other related duties from time to time.
