Job summary

Austal in the Philippines requires a production planner to coordinate and optimize shipbuilding-related activities in line with the Weekly Plan. You will ensure inputs are ready, monitor progress, and drive corrective actions to keep schedules on track.

You will allocate manpower, track materials, and identify cost-efficiency opportunities while upholding quality, safety, and regulatory standards across all fabrication tasks.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a 3-year vocational or trade course in mechanical, HVAC, piping, or related discipline.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical works, shipbuilding, construction, or related industry.
• Basic understanding of piping installation, work sequencing, and resource coordination in a production environment.
• Understanding of production planning, work sequencing, and resource coordination in a fabrication environment.
• Working knowledge of quality standards, Class requirements, and HSE regulations.
• Has demonstrated experience in hydraulic piping.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate all production activities in alignment with the approved Weekly Plan, ensuring inputs (manpower, materials, tools, equipment, facilities, drawings, and information) are available prior to execution.
• Monitor actual progress against plan, identify delays or deviations, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule adherence.
• Ensure proper planning and allocation of manpower to maximize productivity and avoid overstaffing or underutilization.
• Track material usage, wastage, and by-products, and ensure accurate reporting and accountability.
• Identify inefficiencies in resource usage and implement corrective actions to improve cost performance.
• Ensure full compliance with established quality standards, procedures, drawings, and specifications across all production activities.
• Conduct regular checks and coordinate inspections to verify that work meets required standards before progression to the next stage.
