Philippine-Japan Active Carbon Corporation in Davao City is seeking a Production Operator to run, monitor, and maintain assigned production machines in line with production plans and safety standards. The role requires basic mechanical aptitude, adherence to SOPs, and strong attention to quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Education as stated in the job requirements: HS graduate or vocational with TESDA certification.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering is a plus but not required.
• Experience in operating production or industrial machinery is preferred.
• Ability to read SOPs and work instructions, and maintain basic maintenance logs.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and comply with safety rules.
• Basic English/Filipino proficiency for instructions and signage.
• Capable of documenting production output, downtime, and defects.

About the role:

Operate, monitor, and maintain assigned production machines to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing output in accordance with production plans, quality standards, and safety regulations, and all other Production related tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

Responsibilities

Core Duties:

• Machine Operation & Monitoring – Operate assigned production machines according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and production requirements.
• Process Control & Quality Assurance – Monitor process parameters and product quality to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Basic Equipment Care – Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor adjustments to maintain machine performance.
• Safety & Compliance – Follow safety rules, PPE requirements, and operational controls at all times.
• Documentation & Reporting – Accurately record production output, downtime, defects, and operational observations.

Job Requirements

• Education:
• High School Graduate or Vocational/Technical course related to manufacturing, machine operation, or industrial technology
• TESDA certification (Machine Operation, Production NC, or equivalent)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is a plus

2. Experience:

• At least 1–2 years of experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience operating industrial machines (e.g., crushers, mixers, conveyors, kilns, packaging machines) is preferred.
• Exposure to shift work and production-based targets is an advantage.

3. Technical Skills:

• Ability to operate and monitor production machines safely and efficiently.
• Basic mechanical awareness for detecting abnormal machine conditions.
• Ability to follow SOPs, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Basic troubleshooting and adjustment skills within operator-level scope.
• Knows how to drive and operate a forklift unit.

4. Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Work is primarily in a production plant environment with exposure to noise, dust, heat, and moving equipment.
• Requires standing for long periods, repetitive motions, bending, lifting, and manual handling of materials (up to 25 kg).
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, or overtime as required by production needs.
• Strict adherence to PPE and safety rules is mandatory

5. Language:

• Basic proficiency in English and Filipino for understanding instructions, labels, and safety signs.

6. Documentation:

• Ability to accurately complete production logs, checklists, and quality records.
• Familiarity with basic forms, tally sheets, or digital data entry systems is an advantage.

7. Other specifications:

• Detail-oriented, disciplined, and safety-conscious.
• Willing to learn, adapt, and follow instructions.
