Job summary

Detpak Packaging Philippines Inc. seeks an on-site Machine Operator in Taguig with 1-3 years of experience and a Diploma. You will own the machine production process, ensure speeds meet targets, and uphold quality and safety standards.

You will perform basic troubleshooting, manage materials, and assist in training teammates to improve overall operation. The role requires vigilance in compliance, active participation in the preventative maintenance schedule, and collaboration with the Production

POSITION DUTIES

• End to end ownership of the machines and machine production process in line with QSE standards
• Ensures specification speeds are met to achieve production targets
• Ensures all quality and safety systems and procedures are maintained and adhered to
• Does basic troubleshooting - identifies operational issues (mechanical trouble, ink registration problems, etc.) and root cause then makes the necessary machine adjustments to correct the problem; coordinates with the Maintenance department, as needed
• Maintains compliance with the Preventative Maintenance program
• Manages the use of raw materials and consumables used by the machine being operated
• Assists in the training of other team members in machine operation and related processes in order to improve competency and flexibility
• Operates various equipment when required
• Provides assistance in the resolution of quality complaints
• Effectively communicates with team mates to ensure smooth daily operations
• Perform other duties that may be assigned by management

INDICATIVE TASKS

• Set up machines to the required specifications as required by the work order
• Operate the machines to the specifications required as a minimum
• Change paper reels, replenish ink and adhesive trays, as needed
• Do required packing configuration, coding and labelling
• Palletize per standard and label full pallets correctly
• Record run and downtime activities in the AEMS in correct detail
• Monitor quality to comply with customer requirements at all times
• Perform required inline quality checks while running the work order
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues that come up during the production run, e.g.
• mechanical breakdowns, bag formation defects, printing problems, paper quality issues, etc.
• Support other team members with their tasks during idle time when the machine is running well
• Accomplish completely and accurately the Machine Record Sheet (MRS) and Quality Check
• Sheet (QCS) while running a job and submit promptly to the Production Team Leader at the end of the work shift.
• Clean the machine and areas around the machine before, during and after each run
• Perform start up and shutdown procedures in the required order, including cleaning tasks
• Request raw materials from the RM Handler in the right quantities on a timely basis and return unused/excess materials at the end of a job
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks in line with the Preventative Maintenance Schedule
• Do daily checks and cleaning of tools and maintain the operator’s table per set standards
• Assist in the training others in machine set and run procedures, trouble shooting and in-line quality checks
• Participate in discussions and resolution of quality complaints, if any, about products run on the machines being operated
• Check periodically that team members are wearing the appropriate PPEs correctly
• Request safety and office supplies needed by the production line
• Perform other duties that may be assigned by management
