Job summary

Mechtex Ltd. is hiring a Production Engineer to support and optimise manufacturing operations for precision electric motors and motion control solutions. This role focuses on improving production efficiency, ensuring quality standards, and coordinating with cross-functional teams on the production floor.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on exposure to manufacturing processes, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for operational excellence in an engineering-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.E. in Mechanical or Production Engineering is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production efficiency by tracking operation cycle time and identifying bottlenecks.
• Plan manpower allocation and perform line balancing to meet production schedules.
• Record and analyse daily production data, including output, rework, rejection, and scrap.
• Ensure implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions to address and eliminate root causes of rework and rejection.
• Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 requirements and actively participate in customer and internal audits.
• Plan and control daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet delivery commitments.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, and Stores departments to ensure smooth production flow.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and productivity enhancement by using lean manufacturing tools.
• Monitor machine performance and coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
• Implement continuous improvement activities such as Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, and waste elimination.
• Maintain 5S standards and safety protocols across the entire shop floor.
• Support new product development, trial runs, and process validation activities.
• Train and guide operators on process standards, quality requirements, and safety practices.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and safety regulations.
