Job summary

Job Summary

The Process Technician is responsible for setting up, monitoring, and supporting production processes to ensure stable, efficient, and high‑quality manufacturing operations. The role provides hands‑on line support, troubleshoots process and equipment issues, supports quality containment, and acts as a technical resource for operators while collaborating closely with Process and Maintenance Engineers. This role reports directly to the Process Engineer.

Key Responsibilities
1. Process Setup and Line Support
  • Set up, adjust, and verify production processes according to defined parameters and work instructions.

  • Ensure machines, tools, and fixtures are correctly set and ready for production.

2. Process Monitoring and Control
  • Monitor critical process parameters (e.g., tension, temperature, speed, pressure, electrical settings).

  • Ensure processes stay within defined control limits.

  • Perform in‑process inspections and checks to detect abnormalities early.

  • Escalate out‑of‑control conditions or quality risks to Process or Equipment Engineers.

3. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving
  • Respond quickly to line issues such as defects, downtimes, and yield losses.

  • Troubleshoot common process and equipment issues using established methods.

  • Implement temporary fixes and support permanent corrective actions.

  • Assist engineers in root cause analysis by providing data and hands‑on observations.

4. Equipment Operation and Care
  • Operate and fine‑tune production equipment safely and correctly.

  • Perform basic JAFS maintenance tasks (cleaning, lubrication, minor adjustments).

  • Identify early signs of equipment wear or malfunction and coordinate with Maintenance.

  • Ensure proper handling of tools, dies, molds, and fixtures to prevent damage.

5. Quality Support
  • Ensure products meet quality requirements and specifications.

  • Support containment actions for quality issues (sorting, re‑inspection, rework).

  • Verify correct implementation of quality controls.

  • Assist in maintaining process capability and repeatability.

6. Continuous Improvement Participation
  • Participate in kaizen, yield improvement, and scrap reduction activities.

  • Suggest practical improvements to setup, tooling, and process flow.

  • Support Lean and productivity initiatives at the line level.

  • Help standardize best practices across shifts and lines.

7. Training and Operator Support
  • Guide operators on correct process execution and best practices.

  • Support on‑the‑job training for new or cross‑trained operators.

  • Reinforce adherence to standard work and quality requirements.

  • Act as a technical go‑to person on the production floor during shifts.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of a bachelor’s degree or Technology in Electronics or any equivalent field

  • With at least 1 year of relevant experience, preferably in an electronics manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledgeable in electronic components operation and application

  • Willingness to work in shifting schedule
