Job summary

Sumitomo Electric Group is seeking a Process Innovation and Automation Engineer (Engineer 1) in Laguna, Philippines. The role targets someone with a strong background in process automation, innovation, and project planning, plus hands-on experience with PLCs and CAD tools.

You will contribute to continuous improvement and support manufacturing initiatives across projects. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of related experience, knowledge of 8D/FMEA/DOE/OCAP/7QC tools, and strong MS Office

Qualifications

• Graduate of Engineering preferably in Mechatronics, Electronics or Mechanical.
• Licensed engineer is an advantage.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in Process Automation, Innovation, Project Planning & Management.
• Knowledge of FPC manufacturing processes is a plus.
• Basic PLC knowledge and familiarity with AutoCAD/SolidWorks/SketchUp.
• Experience with 8D, FMEA, OCAP, DOE, or 7QC tools is valued.
• Keen to detail with analytical and critical thinking; able to work with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint and Excel).

Qualifications:

• Graduate of any course in Engineering preferably (Mechatronics, Electronics or Mechanical Engineer), licensed engineer is an advantage.
• With at least 1-year relevant experience in Process Automation, Innovation, Project Planning and Management activity.
• Knowledgeable in FPC manufacturing processes is an advantage
• Basic knowledge with PLC.
• Knowledgeable in Auto CAD/Solid works/Sketchup.
• Knowledge in Problem Solving Tools such as 8D, FMEA, OCAP, DOE, 7QC Tools.
• Keen to detail, work with minimum supervision, with good analytical and critical thinking.
• Middle to expert level in MS Office (Power point and Excel).
