Job Summary
The Process Improvement Engineer Associate is responsible for analyzing, improving, and standardizing operational processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance productivity across the organization. The role works closely with Operations, Warehouse, Logistics, and other cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities, implement process optimization initiatives, and ensure sustainable operational excellence through data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze existing operational workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
- Lead process improvement projects focused on productivity, quality, cost reduction, and service delivery.
- Develop, document, and standardize operational procedures, work instructions, and process maps.
- Conduct time and motion studies, workflow analysis, and capacity planning to improve operational performance.
- Monitor operational KPIs and prepare reports with actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with Operations, Warehouse, Procurement, Finance, and HR to implement process improvements.
- Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, or other continuous improvement methodologies to drive operational excellence.
- Facilitate root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation for recurring operational issues.
- Recommend automation, digitalization, and system enhancements to improve operational efficiency.
- Support change management activities, including training employees on new processes and procedures.
- Participate in operational audits to ensure compliance with established standards and best practices.
- Measure the effectiveness of implemented improvements and ensure sustainability through continuous monitoring.
- Assist management in strategic operational planning by providing process performance insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- At least 1-5 years of experience in process improvement, industrial engineering, operations excellence, or continuous improvement.
- Strong exposure to operations, warehouse, logistics, retail, manufacturing, or service operations.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Process Mapping.
- Experience in KPI development, operational analytics, and performance monitoring.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Visio, or similar process documentation and reporting tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma or equivalent certification is an advantage.
- Experience implementing operational improvement projects with measurable business impact.
- Familiarity with ERP, WMS, or other operational management systems.
- Experience in multi-site or retail operations is preferred.
