Qualifications

• 10–15 years delivering and architecting production software at scale.
• Strong depth in system design, distributed systems, and cloud-native architecture.

The Role

The Principal Software Development Engineer I is a senior technical leader who sets architecture and engineering direction across multiple teams and engagements.

The Principal SDE I tackles OBZ's most complex technical challenges, defines platform and solution architectures for enterprise AI systems in regulated environments, and elevates engineering capability across the firm.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role with broad organisational influence.

At OBZ, all engineers are expected to use AI tools effectively in their daily work. AI assistants and workflow automation tools are expected to improve engineering productivity, testing, debugging, documentation, and delivery execution.

• Track record setting technical direction across multiple teams or a business line.
  
• Experience in regulated industries (financial services, telco, insurance) is strongly valued.
