Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Principal Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, operate, and scale our platform. You will tackle the hardest infra problems: increasing throughput, reducing latency, removing bottlenecks, and improving reliability as the business grows.

You will own complex initiatives from architecture to production rollout, write code and IaC, and participate in on-call rotations. You’ll drive improvements through logs, metrics, and postmortems to reduce toil.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing scalable, highly available infrastructure.
• Strong expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, and cloud-native services.
• Proven ability to optimize databases, performance, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture and evolution of core infrastructure.
• Engineer for scale and performance across compute, networking, and databases.
• Design and implement AWS infrastructure with IAM, networks, and multi-AZ or multi-region.
• Build and operate the Kubernetes platform with automation and safe upgrades.
• Scale Aurora RDS for MySQL and Postgres, tuning queries and migrations.
• Develop AI-assisted operational tooling for incident investigation and toil reduction.
