Position : Precast Production & Design Coordinator

Salary : up to 80,000 Php

Working Hours : Australian Hours

Holidays : Public holidays in AU

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and capable Precast Production & Design Coordinator to support the General Manager across the day-to-day design, procurement and production requirements of our precast concrete business.

This is a hands-on support role intended to take a significant amount of the technical, sourcing and production coordination workload away from the General Manager.

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in precast concrete design or manufacturing. Candidates with strong experience in a related field such as industrial design, mechanical design, steel fabrication, mould/tooling design or manufacturing engineering will also be considered.

The role will involve working closely with our Australian team and suppliers, so strong written English and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally are essential.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

1. Precast Mould Design and Sourcing

• Assist the General Manager with the development and design of moulds for precast concrete products.
• Review product requirements and help determine practical and cost-effective moulding solutions.
• Prepare or coordinate drawings and design information for mould manufacture.
• Source suitable mould manufacturers and fabricators, both locally and internationally.
• Obtain and compare quotations for mould manufacture.
• Liaise with mould suppliers regarding design changes, manufacturing requirements, lead times and delivery.
• Assist with improving existing mould designs to increase production efficiency, product quality and ease of manufacture

2. Precast Mould Design and Sourcing

Assist with the purchasing and sourcing of materials required for precast production, including:

• Reinforcing steel and reinforcing mesh
• Reinforcing bar and fabricated reinforcing cages
• Lifting anchors and lifting systems
• Ferrules, cast-in plates and embedded items
• Concrete accessories
• Formwork and mould components
• Consumables and other production materials

Responsibilities will include:

• Obtaining supplier quotations.
• Comparing pricing and specifications.
• Placing and following up purchase orders.
• Monitoring lead times and deliveries.
• Identifying alternative suppliers where cost or availability can be improved.
• Maintaining records of suppliers, pricing and commonly purchased products.

3. Australian Supplier Liaison

• Communicate directly with Australian suppliers by email and telephone.

Tools & Skills

• 2D Drafting: AutoCAD (Industry standard for reviewing shop drawings, steel layout schedules, and concrete insert details).
• 3D Parametric Modeling tools such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or Fusion 360 (Crucial for mould/tooling design, assembly interference checks, and sheet metal/steel fabrication details).
• BIM / Precast Detailing tool such as Tekla Structures or Revit (Common in precast concrete design for rebar layout, lifting anchor placement, and cast-in plate coordination).
• ERP & Inventory Management tools such as NetSuite, SAP, Odoo, or MYOB Advanced (Used for generating Purchase Orders, material tracking, and stock monitoring).
• Procurement & Supplier Management tools such as Procore (Submittal and RFQ tracking) or dedicated Excel/Google Sheets cost comparison models.
• Digital Takeoff tools such Bluebeam Revu or Planswift (For marking up drawings, taking linear/area measurements, and counting embedded components).
• Data Analysis: Microsoft Excel (Advanced functions like VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and Pivot Tables to run supplier pricing comparisons and cost-per-unit analyses).

Key Profile & Experience

• Primary Background: Hands-on experience in precast concrete design or manufacturing.
• Alternative Backgrounds: Relevant technical design or engineering experience in fields like:
  • Mechanical design
  • Tooling / mould design
  • Steel fabrication
  • Industrial design
  • Manufacturing engineering

Key Strengths & Qualities

• Mould & Tooling Expertise: Ability to review product requirements, design practical/cost-effective moulds, prepare or review technical drawings, and improve existing designs to boost production efficiency and product quality.
• Technical Sourcing & Procurement: Skilled at identifying suitable local and international suppliers, running cost/specification comparisons, issuing and following up on purchase orders, and tracking lead times for components (e.g., rebar cages, lifting anchors, cast-in plates, formwork, and consumables).
• Cross-Border Communication: Excellent written and verbal English skills to liaise directly and professionally with Australian suppliers, internal managers, and international fabricators via phone and email.
• Proactive Remote Operator: Capable of working independently in an offshore setup, taking ownership of day-to-day coordination, and anticipating production needs to reduce the General Manager's technical and administrative load.
