Job summary

First Gen is seeking a Power Trading Analyst to manage price and volume submissions to the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) and to monitor market outcomes. The role involves forecasting and optimizing dispatch for the trading portfolio, under guidance from the trading team.

Primary responsibilities include analyzing grid conditions, assessing plant adequacy, and preparing industry reports. A Bachelor's degree in engineering or economics plus relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or Economics.
• 1 year of experience in Wholesale Electricity Spot Market operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Submit offer price and volume to WESM to maximize revenues.
• Monitor WESM outcomes and perform Day-Ahead forecasts.
• Analyze existing plants for supply adequacy and monitor competing generators.
• Assess load behavior to guide First Gen's supply strategy.
• Prepare regular reports on industry development and WESM activities.
