Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim Philippines is seeking a Power BI System Engineer to operate, govern, and enhance our global BI platform. The role focuses on secure, scalable analytics supporting multi-domain data and self-service insights.

You will administer the enterprise Power BI tenant, ensure compliance, and collaborate with IT EDP to optimize performance, costs, and security across the Fabric ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Extensive enterprise Power BI administration experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.
• Strong security, governance and compliance knowledge in regulated environments.
• Experience automating using REST APIs.
• Proficient in data modeling and analytics patterns.
• SQL proficiency; Python or Spark familiarity.

The Position:

Join Boehringer Ingelheim's IT Enterprise Data Platform (IT EDP) team as a Power BI System Engineer and play a key role in operating, governing, and continuously enhancing our global Business Intelligence platform.

The role ensures a secure, scalable, and compliant Business Intelligence ecosystem supporting global business domains, enabling trusted, governed self-service analytics and data-driven decision making.

Duties & Responsibilities:

In this role, you will

• Administer and govern the enterprise Power BI tenant aligned with IT EDP standards.




• Provide support and incident management; lead root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.




• Assist users if they need consulting advice to build their own reports.




• Organize and support activities related to the Power BI Community.




• Manage capacities (Fabric), performance tuning, cost optimization, and workload balancing.




• Implement and monitor security and compliance (Azure AD integration, RLS/OLS/CLS, data sensitivity, GDPR compliance).

Requirements:

• Extensive experience administering Power BI at enterprise scale.




• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.




• Strong communication skills, stakeholder engagement, and troubleshooting.




• Deep understanding of security, governance, and compliance in regulated environments (e.g., pharma).




• Experience with automation using REST APIs, and Software-as-a-Service concepts.




• Solid understanding of data modeling, semantic layers, and analytics patterns.




• Expertise with SQL and familiarity with Python, or Spark.

Nice-to-have Qualifications:

• Experience in large, global organizations with distributed data ownership.




• Microsoft certifications (PL-300, DP-600).




• Experience with monitoring tools and observability practices.
