Job summary

Hoya in the Philippines is seeking a skilled Power BI Developer to design and deliver enterprise-grade dashboards and semantic models, integrating data from Data Lakes and Microsoft Fabric OneLake into Power BI.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to translate requirements into secure, actionable insights, while optimizing performance, implementing RLS, and guiding data storytelling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or related field
• 3–7+ years of experience in BI, analytics, or reporting roles
• Proficiency in SQL for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting
• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
• Advanced understanding of DAX, data modeling, star schema, and performance tuning

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy interactive Power BI dashboards aligned with business KPIs and reporting standards
• Create executive-ready visualizations following usability, accessibility, and data storytelling best practices
• Build, optimize, and maintain semantic models using Power BI Desktop and Fabric-enabled datasets
• Develop complex DAX measures, calculated columns, KPIs, and hierarchies
• Perform data transformation and shaping using Power Query (M)
• Connect Power BI to multiple data sources including: Azure Data Lake / Data Lake Gen2, Microsoft Fabric OneLake, Fabric Lakehouse, Warehouse, and Semantic Models
• Understand and apply Direct Lake, Import, and DirectQuery modes appropriately
• Optimize report and model performance, refresh strategies, and capacity usage
• Implement Row‑Level Security (RLS) and manage workspace/app permissions
• Validate data accuracy and reconcile dashboards with upstream sources
• Collaborate with business and technical teams; conduct requirement discussions and demo sessions.
