Pollution Control Summary
The Pollution Control Officer (PCO) is responsible for ensuring that the company complies with all environmental laws, regulations, and standards. The PCO manages pollution control programs, conducts environmental audits, and works with both internal and external stakeholders to minimize the environmental impact of the company's operations. This role includes overseeing waste management, ensuring the reduction of pollution, and maintaining compliance with environmental regulatory requirements.
Scope and Responsibilities
Environmental Compliance and Pollution Control Management
- Ensure full compliance with local, national, and international environmental laws and regulations (e.g., DENR, LLDA).
- Regularly review and update company environmental policies to meet changing regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit compliance reports, permits, and documentation to regulatory agencies within required timelines.
- Develop and implement pollution control strategies to minimize environmental impact, including waste segregation, recycling, and hazardous material handling.
- Comply with the requirements and standards required by the Laguna water.
- Conduct regular environmental audits and facility inspections to identify hazards or non-compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with government agencies during inspections, audits, and investigations to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Prepare reports on environmental performance, including waste disposal and maintain records for audits and internal reviews.
- Lead sustainability initiatives to reduce waste, conserve resources, and promote eco-friendly practices across the company.
- Manage pollution control facilities such as air pollution control systems to ensure efficient operation and compliance.
Team Leadership and Development
- Provide training and education to employees on pollution control measures, waste management practices, and compliance with environmental policies.
- Lead environmental health and safety meetings, offering recommendations for improving pollution control and sustainability efforts.
- Foster a culture of environmental responsibility by promoting company-wide environmental goals and best practices.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental issues, ensuring cross-departmental alignment on pollution control initiatives.
- Collaborate with management to ensure continuous improvement in environmental policies, procedures, and compliance.
Other Related Tasks
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the HRGA team and ensure efficient operations.
- Assist with special projects or initiatives related to human resources and general affairs as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or any relevant field.
- 1-2 years of experience in environmental compliance management, with a strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
- Experience in developing and implementing pollution control strategies and managing waste management programs.
- Hands-on experience conducting environmental audits and facility inspections to ensure compliance.
- Proven ability to manage environmental projects, lead teams, and train employees on environmental practices.
- Familiarity with working with government agencies during inspections, audits, and compliance activities.
- Proficient in environmental management software and ideally experienced in relevant industries (e.g., manufacturing, construction, waste management).
