Job summary

SMEC Philippines in Mandaluyong is seeking a Project Controls professional to lead planning and scheduling for marine and infrastructure projects. The role focuses on preparing schedules, tracking progress, and supporting EOT claims with detailed analysis.

You will collaborate with design, construction, and contract administration teams, maintain records, and identify schedule risks while ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and client objectives.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • 4-7 years of experience in planning, scheduling, or project controls.
  • Experience in marine, coastal, or infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project; knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is an advantage.
  • Understanding of contractual claims processes and delay analysis techniques.
  • Strong organisational, analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good written communication for drafting correspondence and progress reports.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Exposure to FIDIC or other standard forms of contract desirable.
  • Experience in delay analysis or EOT claim assessments desirable.
  • Familiarity with volume-based productivity tracking desirable.
  • Familiarity with coastal and reclamation works desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and update project schedules for tender, consultancy, and construction using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Ensure schedules meet contractual and procedural requirements.
  • Coordinate with design, construction, and contract administration teams to align schedules with project objectives.
  • Prepare, compile, and maintain progress and productivity reports.
  • Assist in calculating material volumes and analysing productivity.
  • Maintain organised schedule records to defend against claims or disputes.
  • Track schedule risks and provide early warnings to project teams.
  • Identify weak or incomplete project records and close gaps.
  • Draft response letters on programme-related issues with senior staff.
  • Assist in claims analysis, including review of contractor submissions.
  • Perform initial ('first-pass') delay analysis for EOT claims to identify entitlement and need for detailed forensic work.
  • Assist in preparation of EOT reports, including collation of records and analysis results.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure project schedules and updates meet contractual and procedural requirements.
  • Coordinate with design, construction, and contract administration teams to align schedules with project objectives.
  • Prepare, compile, and maintain progress and productivity reports.
  • Assist in calculating material volumes and analysing productivity.
  • Maintain organised schedule-related records to ensure defensibility in case of claims or disputes.
  • Track schedule risks and provide early warnings to project teams.
  • Identify weak or incomplete project records and coordinate with the team to close gaps.
