About The Role

As a Security Specialist Intern, you will work within the Data Center Security team and play a hands‑on role in the day‑to‑day physical security operations of Amazon's data centers. You will collaborate with security vendors, analyze operational data, and help identify improvements to surveillance systems, access controls, and security procedures.

This is not a desk‑only role. You will engage directly with the people, systems, and processes that keep Amazon's most critical infrastructure safe.

What You Will Do

Internship Structure

Amazon internships are full‑time (40 hours per week) for 12 consecutive weeks. This position requires the intern to report to work on site daily. Intern schedules are typically day schedules, Monday through Friday.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We are the people who keep the cloud running. Basic Qualifications

• In pursuit of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Risk Management, Security Management, Criminology or a related field, graduating in 2027
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment, with strong time management skills
• Own vehicle is recommended as reliable transportation to the data center facility (note: public transit option is not available)
