Job summary

FPT Software Philippines Corporation is seeking an experienced PHP backend developer to maintain and extend customer-facing APIs and admin CMS components. The role focuses on CI3 and Laravel stacks, RESTful design, and cloud-based deployment across containerized runtimes.

You will build batch processing, serverless functions, and data pipelines, while collaborating with offshore teams and mobile developers to deliver stable CMS releases and reliable services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend development with PHP and OOP.
• Hands-on CodeIgniter CI3 including controllers, models, libraries, hooks and CI-style queries.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain customer-facing mobile backend API on CI3/PHP 8.x.
• Build and schedule batch and cron jobs for data preparation and delivery.
• Enhance operator CMS on Laravel 6/7/9 stack and CMS screens.
• Develop and operate promotion APIs on Laravel 9 PHP 8.x in container-based runtimes.
• Maintain reporting batches and export to cloud storage.
• Write serverless functions in PHP/Python for data sync and notifications.
• Support serverless container jobs written in TypeScript/Node.
• Design and tune relational schemas, queries, and indexes.
• Diagnose production incidents and coordinate with client/offshore teams.
• Maintain unit tests and Cypress/TypeScript end-to-end suite.
• Peer reviews, pull requests, and release coordination.

Job Responsibilities :

• Develop and maintain the customer-facing mobile backend API on CodeIgniter 3.x / PHP 8.x running on a managed PaaS app platform, serving the iOS and Android clients.
• Build, schedule, and troubleshoot batch and cron jobs for data preparation, aggregation, and delivery.
• Enhance and support the operator admin CMS on Laravel 6.x / PHP 7.2+, covering master data, promotion, and campaign management screens.
• Develop and operate the promotion/coupon APIs on Laravel 9 / PHP 8.x deployed to a container-based serverless runtime — covering both in-store POS transaction flows and app-side offer list and stock queries.
• Maintain the reporting batch — scheduled operational reports generated via console commands and exported to cloud storage.
• Write and maintain event-driven serverless functions in PHP and Python for master data synchronization, push notifications, and spreadsheet parsing via object-storage and HTTP triggers.
• Support and extend serverless container jobs written in TypeScript/Node for data processing and analytics feeds.
• Design and tune relational database schemas, complex queries, and indexes behind all of the above services.
• Diagnose production incidents across both cloud runtimes using centralized logging, and resolve maintenance tickets raised by the client and offshore teams.
• Maintain unit tests and support the Cypress/TypeScript end-to-end suite to keep CMS releases stable.
• Perform peer code reviews, approve pull requests, and coordinate release and deployment activity.
• Communicate directly with the client, offshore teams, and mobile app developers.

Must-Have Skills :

• At least 5 years of experience in Backend Development using PHP/OOP PHP/PHP 7.2 and PHP 8.x.
• CodeIgniter as Platform (Hands-on CI3 — controllers, models, libraries, helpers, hooks, routing, and CI-style database queries.)
