Job summary

IATA Philippines seeks a senior country lead to deliver IATA’s mission from Manila, guiding the country team and coordinating with regional leadership. You will cultivate strong relationships with airlines and government stakeholders to advance industry priorities and IATA’s global objectives at the local level.

The role requires extensive leadership experience, strategic thinking, and excellent communication, with fluency in English and Filipino.

Qualifications

• Twenty years of professional experience with at least five years in a senior management role.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex projects.
• Excellent negotiation and lobbying skills with high cultural intelligence.
• Fluency in English and Filipino; other languages advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead, guide and mentor the Philippines country team to deliver IATA’s agenda in respect of the country’s key objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with both IATA member and non-member airlines’ senior management, ensuring value to members and the aviation sector.
• Raise awareness and understanding of air transport importance among industry leaders and key decision-makers with government officials and legislators.
• Monitor and report on aviation-related activities, providing recommendations to the RLT and divisional teams.
• Deliver global priorities at local level, enabling safer, more efficient operations for airlines and airports.
• Liaise with RLT on regulatory requirements impacting air navigation and safety.
• Maintain relationships with air navigation service providers and regulators, aligning communications with policies.
• Identify and deliver business development opportunities for IATA’s services at local level.
• Collaborate with Asia-Pacific Office to build stakeholder management with airlines, travel agents, and forwarders.
• Ensure fiscal, legal and regulatory compliance and perform necessary duties with PoA.
