Job summary

San Miguel Global Power seeks a licensed Chemical or Mechanical Engineer to join our Masinloc, Zambales team. You will collect, analyze, and interpret plant performance data to drive coal usage efficiency and heat rate optimization.

Responsibilities include preparing technical reports and test procedures, conducting ASME-based testing, and producing deviation and root-causing analyses. Proficiency with CMMS (IBM Maximo) and historian tools is preferred; strong English technical writing is

Qualifications

• Licensed engineer with 2–3 years of plant performance analysis experience.
• Experience in power generation systems and steam cycle chemistry.
• Ability to conduct equipment testing per ASME codes and report results.
• Strong root-cause analysis and data-driven recommendations.
• Familiarity with CMMS and plant historian tools.
• Proficient English communication and technical writing.
• Willing to work on-site in Masinloc, Zambales.

Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting plant performance data; preparing technical reports and test procedures; and supporting the development of strategies for efficient coal usage, plant heat rate optimization, and the plant’s coal procurement plan.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Chemical or Mechanical Engineer with 2–3 years of experience in plant performance analysis within the power or heavy industry sector.
• Experienced in power generation systems, including steam cycle chemistry, permit processes, and performance monitoring.
• Capable of conducting equipment testing based on ASME performance codes and producing detailed reports from test data.
• Skilled in plant process analysis and able to prepare deviation reports based on efficiency testing results.
• Demonstrates competence in simulations or modeling of direct materials and in recommending suitable alternatives.
• Able to identify root causes of performance deviations and provide data-driven recommendations for corrective actions.
• Familiar with tools for root cause analysis such as Cause-and-Effect Diagrams and other problem-solving techniques.
• Proficient in using CMMS platforms (e.g., IBM Maximo) and plant historian tools (e.g., eDNA, Wonderware).
• Communicates effectively in English and demonstrates strong technical writing and documentation skills.
• Bring a proactive mindset, a strong sense of urgency, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
