Job summary

Cloudstaff Philippines Inc. is seeking an experienced Payroll Leader to own end-to-end Australian payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.

The role leads a payroll team, drives process improvements, and partners with Product & Engineering to automate workflows as we scale to a marketplace and AI-enabled delivery model. Strong knowledge of Australian awards and payroll regulations is essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ yrs Australian payroll across modern awards / EAs.
• Power-user of Employment Hero and/or KeyPay (rules engine, GL, STP 2).
• Expert knowledge: award compliance, payroll tax (all states), super, portable LSL, workers comp, FBT.
• Exposure to HRIS / Time & Attendance integrations (Tanda, Shiftcare, BambooHR) desirable.
• Clear, confident English—translate payroll jargon into plain language.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payroll workflow delivery to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Monitor, manage, and enforce SLAs; identify and resolve capacity risks.
• Oversee escalations and complex customer issues with high-quality outcomes.
• Lead root-cause analysis; document findings and implement preventive solutions.
• Maintain and enhance SOPs and knowledge assets.
• Develop, mentor, and upskill payroll specialists; support hiring and onboarding.
• Work with Customer Success, Implementations, and Quality to improve service delivery.
• Provide insights to influence roadmap and strategic priorities.
