Job summary

BruntWork is seeking a meticulous Patient Insurance Verification & Authorization Specialist to manage verification, eligibility, authorization, and reverification across healthcare locations. You will ensure patients are cleared before appointments and maintain precise records while collaborating with front desk, scheduling, and billing teams to prevent delays and denials.

This fast-paced role requires strong insurance knowledge, organizational skills, and proactive follow-up to keep claims

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in medical insurance verification, intake, administration, or revenue cycle.
• Strong understanding of eligibility, benefits, authorizations, copays and deductibles.
• Experience using medical portals and verification systems; familiar with EHR/EMR.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance eligibility, coverage, benefits, copays and deductibles.
• Confirm demographics and guarantor information; resolve discrepancies.
• Review referrals and workflows to identify prior authorization needs.
• Track and document required authorizations; reverification as needed.
• Reverify coverage regularly and before appointments to catch changes.
• Manage assigned patients from verification to appointment clearance.
• Maintain accurate eligibility and authorization records in systems.
• Coordinate with front desk, scheduling and billing to fix missing data.
• Support billing by flagging issues that could cause denials.
• Provide overflow phone support; explain insurance and financial expectations.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with healthcare workflows.
