Holiday Plaza Hotel in Cebu City is seeking a skilled Painter to join our maintenance team on a full-time basis. You will maintain interior and exterior surfaces to uphold our hotel’s high standards.

The role requires attention to detail, knowledge of painting techniques, and the ability to work safely and efficiently. Hospitality experience is preferred, with opportunities for progression within the maintenance department, and good communication with guests and staff.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Painter, preferably in hospitality.
• Knowledge of painting techniques and finishes for various surfaces.
• Ability to read paint specifications, color samples and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling cracks before painting.
• Apply paint, varnish, and finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, and trim.
• Mix paints to achieve desired colors and consistency.
• Protect floors and furnishings with coverings.
• Perform routine maintenance painting in guest rooms and common areas.
• Coordinate with other departments to minimise disruption.
• Inspect completed work for quality and guest satisfaction.
• Mainta in painting equipment and tools.
• Follow health and safety protocols and PPE usage.
• Assist with special projects and seasonal refurbishment.

About the role

Holiday Plaza Hotel is seeking a skilled and dedicated Painter to join our maintenance and facilities team on a full-time basis. This position is based in Cebu City, Cebu, and plays a crucial role in maintaining the aesthetic appeal and structural integrity of our hotel property. As a Painter, you will be responsible for ensuring all interior and exterior surfaces of our hotel are kept in pristine condition, contributing directly to the exceptional guest experience we strive to deliver.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling cracks or holes prior to painting

• Applying paint, varnish, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, and trim using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment

• Mixing paint and other coating materials to achieve desired colours and consistency

• Protecting floors, fixtures, and furnishings with drop cloths and protective coverings

• Performing regular maintenance painting in guest rooms, common areas, and back-of-house facilities

• Responding promptly to maintenance requests and coordinating with other departments to minimise disruption to hotel operations

• Inspecting completed work to ensure quality standards and guest satisfaction

• Maintaining painting equipment and tools in good working condition

• Following health and safety protocols and using personal protective equipment correctly

• Assisting with special projects and seasonal refurbishment work as required

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience as a Painter or in a similar painting trade role, ideally within the hospitality industry

• Strong knowledge of different painting techniques, materials, and finishes suitable for various surfaces

• Proficiency with painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, spray guns, and power tools

• Ability to read and interpret paint specifications, colour samples, and technical drawings

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship

• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking direction from supervisors

• Strong communication skills and a professional demeanour when interacting with guests and colleagues

• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in the building trades

• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays as needed

• Valid driver's licence or reliable transportation to the work site
