Job summary

The University of Melbourne is offering paediatric clinical teaching fellowships at the Royal Children’s Hospital. This part-time fixed-term position delivers bedside small-group teaching for medical students and supports curriculum development within the Department of Paediatrics and Melbourne Medical School.

You will design assessments, contribute to the paediatric curriculum and participate in professional development to grow as a medical educator in a leading Faculty.

Qualifications

  • Hold current medical registration in Australia or be eligible for Australian medical registration.
  • Maintain RACP Paediatric Advanced Trainee status post-exams or FRACP or equivalent training.
  • Experience in clinical paediatrics practice environments.
  • Commitment to developing professional capabilities and evidence-informed teaching skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication with staff, students and multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Collaborate effectively in teaching teams to achieve educational outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality clinical teaching and supervision to medical students in the Child and Adolescent Health rotation.
  • Provide mentoring and feedback supporting students’ professional growth and learning.
  • Contribute to assessment design, review and implementation for paediatric components of the curriculum.
  • Assist with curriculum development and continuous improvement of the Child and Adolescent Health program.
  • Engage in academic and professional development to enhance skills as a medical educator.
