Job summary

San Miguel Foods is seeking a packaging engineer to design and develop new processes and packaging ideas, translating them into viable prototypes to improve yields.

The role requires at least a Bachelor's degree in packaging/chemical engineering or food technology, at least 5 years of experience in basic food manufacturing processes and packaging development, and willingness to be assigned to the Pasig City office.

Responsibilities

• Designs/develops new processes and packaging ideas and translates to viable prototypes.
• Improves and simplifies product processes and recommends least cost packaging materials as part of yield improvement, production efficiency and cost reduction program.
• Evaluates and secures resources required to support the application of process, equipment and packaging through interfacing with suppliers and technical partners.
• Provides technical assistance during troubleshooting of process-related problems, commissioning or fabrication of new equipment or implements, and handling of product complaints.
• Establishes storage, handling and shelf-life guidelines of products.
