Job summary

Amentum seeks a Recreation Services Coordinator to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will assist planning, coordinating and administering Morale, Welfare, and Recreation activities, while ensuring safety and quality across facilities and events.

You will also develop programs, manage inventories, and train staff to AECR standards, with international travel and deployment requirements. This role emphasizes customer service and program efficiency in a remote environment.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree from an accredited college or university with a major in recreation or related field.
• Or three years of experience in military recreational services or equivalent civilian sector.
• Minimum of five years of specialized experience in NF-4 or middle manager role in civilian operation; Certified ARC Lifeguard Training Instructor.
• Background in marketing strategies to promote recreational services.
• Proficiency in officiating sports including Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Softball, and Flag Football.
• Must complete and maintain all required training: MWR Star Service/AECR, HAZMAT, CPR, First Aid, and local emergency procedures training with annual recertification.
• Must read, speak, and comprehend English for contract requirements and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Recreation Services Manager with planning, coordination, and administration of MWR programs and services.
• Ensure safety and health regulation compliance for areas serving the public or hazardous materials.
• Organize and officiate sports events (Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Softball, Flag Football).
• Support resale operations, inventory management, and analysis to boost efficiency and profitability.
• Develop and promote recreational activities using marketing strategies for military personnel and base residents.
• Maintain customer satisfaction and training aligned with AECR program standards.
• Train staff and ensure on-the-job training to meet safety and service standards.
• Organize and schedule recreational activities and events for military communities.
