Job summary

Amentum seeks a Recreation Services Manager to lead morale, welfare, and recreation programs for a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will supervise staff, coordinate events, and ensure safety, quality, and compliance with Navy guidelines.

The role requires a degree in recreation/sports management or related field, Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification, and the ability to travel internationally. Strong leadership and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in recreation, sports management, business administration, or related field.
• Three years’ experience in recreation with understanding of group motivation.
• Five years’ specialized experience in a supervisory or management role in similar operations.
• Certified American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Instructor.
• Proficient in officiating popular sports (soccer, basketball, volleyball, softball, flag football).
• Must complete and maintain training: MWR Star Service/AECR, HAZMAT, CPR, First Aid, and local procedures annually.
• Must be able to obtain travel visas and possess a valid passport with international travel eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all morale, welfare, and recreation programs on the installation.
• Supervise recreational staff and coordinate events.
• Ensure safety standards and Navy guidelines compliance across activities.
• Oversee budgets and facility resources for fiscal responsibility.
• Maintain program quality and customer service excellence.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to promote and sustain MWR programs.
