Job summary

Amentum seeks a Post Clerk OCN - Mail Services Lead Clerk to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will supervise mail operations, ensure accurate receipt, sorting, and distribution of mail, packages, and supplies, and lead a small team in a remote overseas location.

The role requires DoD Postal Manual qualification, experience in postal operations, confidentiality, and the ability to travel internationally. Flexibility to work varied shifts and lift duties are included.

Qualifications

• Must complete DoD Postal Manual 4525.6-M qualification prior to performing postal duties.
• Knowledge of USPS operations, including postage metering equipment and mail processing procedures.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect customer privacy and sensitive information.
• Experience handling cash and maintaining accountability for financial transactions.
• Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
• Must meet contract medical requirements and deployment qualifications.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, daytime, and evenings based on schedules.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of three years experience in mail services or postal operations.
• Must obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
• English language proficiency to perform contract requirements and emergency procedures.
• Ability to obtain country-specific visas as per guidance.
• Medical/security/deployment requirements to be met for remote overseas location.

Responsibilities

• Provides daily operational support for mail services, ensuring timely delivery and handling of mail, supplies, and materials.
• Oversees receipt, processing, sorting, tracking, and distribution of mail, parcels, and deliveries.
• Supervise mail services personnel for collection, sorting, metering, scanning, and delivery.
• Provide guidance on use of mail equipment, including postage meters, scales, and barcode scanners.
• Train and mentor staff in daily operations and procedures.
• Address and resolve employee concerns and operational challenges.
• Promote teamwork to ensure seamless delivery of mail services across the organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
