Operations Supervisor (Chemical Engineer)

The Operations Supervisor (Chemical Engineer) is responsible for overseeing daily plant operations to ensure efficiency, safety, quality, and compliance with industry regulations. Leveraging chemical engineering knowledge, the role ensures the optimization of processes, troubleshooting of technical issues, and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives in production.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet quality and output targets.
- Monitor plant processes and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Apply chemical engineering principles to optimize manufacturing processes and resolve technical issues.
- Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and R&D teams to improve product quality and process efficiency.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate production staff, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Analyze production data and prepare performance reports for management review.
- Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions for operational deviations.
- Assist in the commissioning, calibration, and validation of process equipment.
- Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods in coordination with Supply Chain.
- Promote continuous improvement culture through lean manufacturing or Six Sigma practices.
- Ensure compliance with government and industry regulations (e.g., DENR, OSHA, FDA, etc.).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering; must be a licensed Chemical Engineer.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or chemical processing environment.
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of chemical plant operations, safety practices, and quality systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with process simulation tools and ERP systems is a plus.
