Job Summary
The Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day operational functions of the company (with less than 10 people)— logistics, inventory, procurement, and sales support — ensuring efficient coordination between finance, sales, and warehouse/logistics teams. This role is ideal for a candidate with a finance and sales background, bringing strong analytical skills and commercial awareness to operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end operational workflows, including purchase order processing, inventory management, warehousing, and delivery/logistics coordination
- Monitor and analyze operational costs, budgets, and financial performance metrics related to supply chain and distribution
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure inventory availability aligns with sales forecasts and customer demand
- Develop and enforce SOPs for procurement, order fulfillment, and returns processing
- Prepare operational and financial reports for management (cost analysis, inventory turnover, delivery performance, sales-operations alignment)
- Manage relationships with suppliers, distributors, and logistics partners; negotiate terms where applicable
- Identify process inefficiencies and lead initiatives to improve operational productivity and reduce costs
- Supervise operations, logistics, and sales support staff; set KPIs and conduct performance evaluations
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and relevant regulations
- Support budget planning and expense monitoring in coordination with the Finance department
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, or related field
- 3–5+ years of experience in operations, with prior background in finance and/or sales roles
- Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and cost analysis
- Proficiency in QuickBooks required
- Experience in trading, distribution, or FMCG industries preferred
- Proficiency in inventory/ERP systems and MS Excel/Google Sheets
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and cross-functional communication skills
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving ability
