Job summary

Hatch Asia seeks an Ocean Freight Procurement Manager to lead carrier relationships and optimize ocean freight activities across Asia. The role focuses on establishing rates, handling RFQs, and managing service contracts while driving regional projects and growth targets.

The candidate should have 6–8 years in carrier management, a relevant bachelor degree, and strong Excel/Word/PowerPoint skills, with a mature, team-oriented approach and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain.
• 6–8 years of experience in carrier management or related logistics or freight forwarding roles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Mature, pleasant, good team player and detail-minded.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain general and specialized ocean freight rates for the trades specified.
• Handle RFQ/Tenders sent by the networks and agents in related trades.
• Act as escalation point on carrier or consolidator operational issues (e.g., space, equipment, rates).
• Manage service contracts related to the responsible trades.
• Establish and maintain good relationships with carriers, overseas agents and vendors.
• Create specialized service products.
• Share ocean products information and market intelligence.
• Participate in and support regional ocean team projects.
• Monitor and achieve the growth target in the responsible trades in volume as well as GM and TEU.
• Monitor and achieve the core carrier strategy.
• Establish own consol box network.

This newly created position is responsible to manage carrier relationships for all transportation activities within Asia and other regions.

The Challenges

• Establish & maintain general and specialized ocean freight rates for the trades specified.
