Job summary

Zendesk observes internal platforms and business-critical apps by designing and operating the telemetry backbone, including metrics, logs, traces, and profiling. You will instrument services, build dashboards, and tune alerts to drive reliable RunOps and reduce toil across teams.

You will collaborate with Incident & Problem Management, integrate observability with CI/CD, and coach product teams on instrumentation patterns and SLO thinking in a hybrid India-based role.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years in Observability/SRE/Monitoring roles.
• Hands-on with monitoring and logging tools.
• Strong grasp of distributed tracing, RED/USE/golden signals, SLI/SLO/SLA and error budgets.
• Proficient in Python.
• Experience with AWS ITSM and post-incident reviews.
• SQL or log query languages.

Responsibilities

• Design the observability stack and define standards for metrics, logs, traces, and profiling.
• Instrument priority services with golden signals, baselines, and anomaly detection.
• Build dashboards and health views for applications, networks, HRIS, and integrations.
• Develop alerting policy as code and reduce false positives.
• Collaborate with Incident & Problem Management to accelerate triage and RCAs.
