NURSING CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR
Responsibilities
Performs job functions consistent with the Institution's vision and mission statements and core values.
Complies with institutional policies, procedures, and systems as contained in the administrative and operations manuals, memoranda, and related issuances.
Participates in the course development and evaluation activities together with the Clinical Coordinator.
Interprets the program goals and learning objectives for the learners with the staff at the practice sites.
Assists the RLE Coordinator in day-to-day liaison / coordination between the affiliation center or clinical agency.
Ensures compliance with learner assignments and learning programs as agreed upon between the RLE Coordinator and hospital / clinic administrators and professionals.
Supervises learner rotations or site visits and their actual exposure to clinical practice; helps learners understand their duties in different settings; assists the learners in integrating theory and practice specific to the course's learning activities and level of the learner, ensuring that the clinical lessons tie in with classroom lessons that have already been completed so that learners have the necessary knowledge base for their laboratory or clinic lesson.
Evaluates the learner's development of clinical reasoning and practical skills: directly observes and guides learners' learning activities as they work with professional partners; evaluates learners' learning outcomes and performance in clinical exposure; conducts formal student performance evaluation, and provides formal and informal feedback on the effectiveness of their actions and decisions and for information about how they can improve; submits grades to the clinical coordinator on prescribed frequency and deadlines.
Designs and facilitates clinical seminars and related learning experiences.
Provides timely and ongoing feedback to the RLE Coordinator/lead faculty regarding individual learner and group performance in accomplishment of the course's outcomes.
Provides feedback to the RLE Coordinator / lead faculty regarding the clinical setting's effectiveness in supporting learner accomplishment of the course and program outcomes.
Attends to issues related to learners' on-site health, safety and security; refers cases of learners' behaviors inconsistent with the provisions of the students' handbook to the relevant institutional officers.
Consolidates work outputs, results, and accomplishments into periodic and annual (based on academic year) performance reports and submits these as well as all other required reports to the superiors in the organization.
Participates actively in promotional activities and enrollment campaigns of the institution.
Attends internal and external institutional programs and activities such as spiritual formation, general assemblies, conventions, convocations, committee meetings, community services, social and others.
Continually upgrades knowledge and skills through attendance at training and development programs and self-initiated learning activities like readings, studies, and/or pursuance of further academic programs for the enhancement of professional, technical, and personal proficiencies.
Participates in ensuring cleanliness, orderliness, safety and in ensuring utilization of utilities, supplies, and equipment within the work area.
Assumes and performs such other functions that are related to and/or implied from the preceding enumeration of duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the immediate superior.
