Job summary

Globe Group in Metro Manila is seeking a NodeJS Senior/Lead Software Development Engineer to shape the platform’s technical future and mentor the team. You will balance hands-on development with architectural leadership in a hybrid on-site/work-from-home setup.

You will drive cloud-native designs, containerization with Docker/Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code, while guiding junior engineers to higher impact outcomes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with leadership as a Senior Engineer guiding teams to ship high-impact software.
• Expert-level NodeJS with ability to choose the right tool for architectural challenges; Python a plus.
• Deep, under-the-hood experience with AWS or Google Cloud and cost-performance trade-offs.
• System design expertise in microservices, distributed systems, and data consistency at scale.
• Ownership mindset with observability (Prometheus/Grafana) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Architect & Scale: Lead the design and evolution of high-performance, distributed cloud applications that define our core services.
• Technical Leadership: Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical roadmaps.
• Engineering Excellence: Set the gold standard for code quality, security, and performance through peer reviews.
• Infrastructure Strategy: Oversee CI/CD and cloud infrastructure for automation, resilience, and cost-optimization.
• Orchestration Mastery: Drive containerization with Docker and Kubernetes for global scale.
• Mentorship: Coach junior and mid-level engineers to grow capabilities.
