Job summary

AboitizPower is seeking a New Energy Specialist in Pasig to lead the development and execution of BESS and new technology projects, ensuring technical soundness, economic feasibility, and risk-balanced delivery.

You will work with the Business Development team to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment through strong project leadership and regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical preferred).
• 8+ years in Oil & Gas or Power sectors with 3+ years in carbon capture/CCU projects and 3+ years in leadership.
• Project management certification preferred.
• Knowledge of BESS technology, carbon capture processes/equipment, and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead BESS and new technology projects from concept to execution, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
• Evaluate BESS/new technologies and support technology strategy development and roadmaps.
• Develop technical concepts, project plans, business cases, and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, clients, regulators, and partners to resolve issues.
• Provide management with technical insights, recommendations, and project updates.

As a New Energy Specialist, you will lead the development and execution of BESS and new technology projects, ensuring technically sound, economically feasible, and risk-balanced delivery and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with Business Development team to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Project Development & Execution – Lead BESS and new technology projects from concept to execution, ensuring alignment with timelines, budget, quality, and regulations.


• Technology & Strategy – Evaluate BESS/new technologies and support the development of technology strategies and roadmaps.


• Business Case & Engineering – Develop technical concepts, project plans, business cases, cost and risk assessments, and engineering standards.


• Stakeholder Management – Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, clients, regulators, government, and partners to resolve issues and optimize projects.


• Industry & Management Reporting – Monitor industry trends and provide management with technical insights, recommendations, and project updates.

What You Will Need:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Chemical.


• Experience: 8+ years in Oil & Gas or Power, with 3+ years in carbon capture/CCU projects and 3+ years in leadership.


• Certification: Project Management certification preferred.


• Technical Expertise: BESS technology, carbon capture processes/equipment, engineering standards, and project management.


• Competencies: Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.


• Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of global BESS policies and regulatory frameworks.
