Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in the Philippines is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and optimize enterprise networks across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. The role emphasizes automation, IaC, and SDN to support scalable test and production environments.

You will work with Cisco/Juniper/Fortinet/Palo Alto devices, monitor performance with SolarWinds/PRTG, and integrate provisioning with CI/CD pipelines for end-to-end environment setup.

Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing.
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, proxies.
  • Experience with Cisco/Juniper/Fortinet/Palo Alto devices.
  • Experience with network performance monitoring tools.
  • IaC concepts for network automation.
  • Automation of network provisioning in hybrid/cloud.
  • SDN tools experience and container networking familiarity.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking concepts and multi-cloud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, manage, and maintain network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.
  • Implement automated network provisioning and orchestration using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or SDN platforms
  • Integrate network provisioning workflows into CI/CD pipelines for consistent and repeatable environment deployment.
  • Maintain network configuration standards, templates, and scripts for automation and repeatability.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to ensure seamless multi-tier environment orchestration.
  • Provision and manage virtual networks for development, QA, and DR test environments
  • Implement virtual network topologies, VLANs, overlays, and port groups to replicate production scenarios for testing.
  • Manage snapshot, cloning, and rollback workflows for test bed environments.
  • Optimize network resource allocation and monitor performance, availability, and capacity in virtualized test beds.
  • Ensure integration of virtual networks with automated provisioning and orchestration workflows.
  • Enforce network security policies, segmentation, and access controls in both production and test environments.
  • Manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and encrypted network traffic to ensure secure connectivity.
  • Conduct vulnerability scans, patch management, and compliance checks for network infrastructure.
  • Ensure network security aligns with enterprise IT security standards and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and health using tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, or Nagios.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support integrated infrastructure provisioning and orchestration.
  • Proficiency with network automation and orchestration tools (Ansible, Terraform)
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization networking
  • Knowledge of network security principles, monitoring, and compliance standards.

Job description

Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)
Must-Have

Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Subnetting, Routing (OSPF/BGP/EIGRP), and Switching protocols.

Hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and proxies.

Network configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting on Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or Palo Alto devices.

Experience with network performance monitoring and diagnostics using tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG.

Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) for network automation.

Automation of network provisioning, configuration, and deployment in hybrid and cloud environments.

Hands-on experience with software-defined networking (SDN) tools like VMware NSX, Cisco ACI, or OpenDaylight.

Ability to simulate multi-tier network topologies for testing applications, DR, or upgrades.

Integration of network test beds with orchestration workflows for automated environment creation and teardown.

Knowledge of intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and network monitoring for threats.

Hands-on experience with VPNs, secure routing, and encrypted traffic management.

Perform vulnerability assessment, patching, and compliance checks for network infrastructure.

Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams for end-to-end environment provisioning and governance.

Knowledge of API-based network automation and integration with CI/CD pipelines.

Understanding of cloud networking concepts (VPC, Subnets, Security Groups, Cloud Load Balancers).

Exposure to multi-cloud virtual networking for hybrid and DR environments.

Experience with network overlays, SD-WAN, or VXLAN in test and production environments.

Knowledge of container networking in Kubernetes or OpenShift environments.
